This is a gathering song, one to lift the hearts of the congregation at the start of a service and foster a sense of unity and purpose. The original words and the tune are from Zimbabwe, but set to an English translation and Scottish musical arrangement in Common Ground. Both sets of words are used in the video linked above.

The words are simple: ‘Come all you people, come and praise your maker, come now and worship the Lord’. They remind us that this is the main purpose of coming to church on a Sunday. Yes, it builds community; yes, we may hear a sermon, and Bible passages read, and prayers of intercession said. But at the heart of it is worship. Recognising who God is, what he has done for his people, and giving him honour and praise. Whether we meet in Britain, or Zimbabwe, or anywhere else, we come together as Christians to worship God , Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
